Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a family of musicians. She was raised listening to classical Boleros from the past along with traditional romantic and Ranchero songs. Ana loves tangos. She also loves operas as well as any dramatic performance. She was taught by her mother to sing, however she started intensive singing lessons by Flavio Belcerra at 16 when he was a renowned Mexican opera singer and tenor. In Guadalajara, she attended the School of Music of University of Guadalajara and then in Toluca at The School of Sacred Music. In Guadalajara as well as Mexico City, she was a member of many opera ensembles as well as chamber groups. In 2000 she moved to the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Then, in 2007, she settled in her current home in Southern California. She sings in Ensemble XXI Redlands, and sings Latin American traditional music solo at many private events. Alongside being an instructor and performer in the local area and instructor, her passion for music and art keeps her engaged in a wide range of projects. Ana was a former part of the Community Chorus of Redlands (as being a member of the Inland Master Chorale) and Performance Loft. Ana appreciates having the chance to share her love and enthusiasm for traditional Latin American songs with others and, in the process hopes to impart a desire, especially among younger generations, to help keep this music vibrant and alive.Viva Mexico!
